FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 19, 2018

DEAR JERRY: It is fairly well known that "The Twist" by Chubby Checker not only charted in two different years, but is the only rock era hit to reach No. 1 in two different years (1960 & 1962).

I would like to see a list of singles that charted twice or more, from 1950 to present, with the exact same recording.
—Paul Fredricksen, Brookfield, Wisc.

DEAR PAUL & EVERYONE: Due to increasing deadlines relating to my numerous other projects and products, I will have less time for this column. As any regular reader knows, I have created many huge, time consuming, lists over the years.

But beginning this week, the column might not be as lengthy as in the past — unless things change down the trail, which seems unlikely.

Now on to your question, Paul, which I do like (and it won't take hours to do).

Here is a group of records that meet your criteria, though Christmas records are not included. "Jingle Bell Rock," "The Chipmunk Song," and several others charted repeatedly over the years.

This list will grow as readers, and myself, discover new entries. Included is the highest position on a national chart, and its peak year:
