FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 7, 2006

DEAR JERRY: About 10 years I discovered NOFX, a California Punk Rock band.

Perhaps obscure to some, they did have several hits to their credit.

The greatest challenge is for collectors of limited editions and colored vinyl singles, like myself. Just when I think I've seen them all, new ones pop up.

Can you could provide a list of all of their 7-inch colored vinyl records? I'm sure other collectors would also find it extremely helpful.
—Nicole Stefani, Tampa, Fla.

DEAR NICOLE: Unlike most bands, NOFX is very aware of the vinyl collecting world. They do have many CDs, but usually issue their music on vinyl.

To further delight and challenge collectors, many are colored plastic and produced in limited editions.

Since the quantity of the edition may not be given on the record, or is shown incorrectly, I will also provide those details along with the current price range — all colorfully chronological:

We have often said a record — or anything for that matter — does not have to be old to be valuable. NOFX is proof positive of that statement.

NOFX is by no means an obscure act. Besides having a considerable cult following and being one of the most collectible artists in recent years, five NOFX albums made the Billboard charts.

IZ ZAT SO? Today's question referred only to 7-inch issues, but NOFX also released a dozen colored vinyl 12-inch records, most of which are already valuable.

There may never be a better time to list — and to collect them:
